The automatic park assist drives a vehicle into a selected parking space. In other words, it steers, brakes, controls the engine and transmission, applies the parking brake once the parking position has been reached, and stops the engine. And just as simply, the touch of a button is all that is needed to drive out of the parking space again. As an optional feature, the driver can control the parking maneuver while standing outside the vehicle, using either a button on the ignition key or a smartphone.
