In 2016, the Bosch Group once again increased its sales. According to preliminary figures, sales rose last year to some 73.1 billion euros. That is roughly 2.5 billion euros more than in the previous year. Earnings from operations before interest and taxes (EBIT from operations) came to 4.3 billion euros. Mobility Solutions, the business sector that generates by far the most sales (60 percent of total sales) grew by an exchange rate-adjusted 7.0 percent, and thus once again faster than global automotive production. Its sales came to 44.0 billion euros. Bosch posted double-digit sales growth in Asia Pacific. There, the company’s revenues grew by an exchange rate-adjusted 12.0 percent to 20.8 billion euros. Worldwide, the Bosch Group employed some 390,000 associates as of December 31, 2016. This is a year-on-year headcount increase of some 15,000.
