In 2017, Bosch achieved a strong 6.8 percent increase in sales. Sales last year rose to 78.1 billion euros. Earnings from operations before interest and taxes (EBIT) rose to some 5.3 billion euros. This equates to an EBIT margin from operations of 6.8 percent. Mobility Solutions, the business sector that generates by far the most sales (61 percent) grew 7.8 percent, and thus three times faster than global automotive production. Its sales came to 47.4 billion euros. In Asia Pacific (including Africa), Bosch reported double-digit growth in sales. There, the company's revenues grew 13.5 percent to 23.6 billion euros. Worldwide, Bosch employed some 402,200 associates as of December 31, 2017. Headcount increased by roughly 12,900 in 2017.
