press release

Bosch is now launching a new drill with significantly higher performance for faster drilling progress and precision results: the GBM 13-2 RE Professional. With its 750 watt motor as well as a higher no-load speed of 3,000 rpm in the second speed setting, the drill allows much faster drilling progress than the previous 550 watt model. Furthermore, the tool is more compact and provides better handling thanks to it’s Softgrip. Professionals whose daily work involves pre-drilling and drilling lots of holes can thus achieve even more precise results.

Now available: version with precision chuck
For consistent levels of precision even in demanding applications, Bosch now also offers a precision chuck in addition to its quick action and keyed chucks. This chuck has an additional clamping ring which reliably holds the drill in place even in demanding applications, such as drilling steel with the maximum diameter of 13 millimeters. The result: exact drill holes.

Anti-Rotation overload coupling protects the user
The GBM 13-2 RE Professional features a mechanical overload coupling for maximum control in any application. If the drill jams in metal or in a hard object, the motor cuts out. This minimizes unwanted rotation of the drill and protects the user.

Thanks to its two-speed gearbox and spindle speed pre-selector, the GBM 13-2 RE Professional is designed for a wide range of applications and therefore, also for drilling steel and wood. In the first speed setting the tool can easily handle drilling diameters up to 13 millimeters in steel and 32 millimeters in wood. In the second speed setting the GBM 13-2 RE Professional achieves drilling diameters up to eight millimeters in steel and 20 millimeters in wood. Thanks to its high speed, the drill makes for faster work progress in these applications, too. The GBM 13-2 RE Professional is therefore suitable for a variety of trades – for skilled workers in the metalworking and mechanical engineering sector, for carpenters and roofing contractors as well as for installers working in the sanitary, heating and air conditioning sector. GBM 13-2 RE Professional excels in daily use due to a rugged metal gear case, a spindle collar and a four meter long cable, and therefore has a long useful life and is comfortable to handle.

The GBM 13-2 RE Professional will be available at specialist retail outlets from September 2015 onwards in the following versions:
  • In the L-Boxx with keyless chuck for 285 euros,
  • in a cardboard box with keyless chuck for 265 euros,
  • in a cardboard box with keyed chuck for 255 euros,
  • in a cardboard box with precision chuck for 265 euros.
All prices are recommended retail prices excluding VAT. The Bosch range of
accessories also includes bits, drills, holesaws and much more besides for a wide range of applications with metal, wood and plastic.
