press release

With “C-Tec Speed” Bosch is launching plunge-cutting saw blades for professional multi-cutters onto the market that will in future enable professional tradespeople to efficiently and conveniently remove window frames. An oscillating tool makes it especially easy to get into hard-to-reach areas such as window corners or to cut hidden fixings in plaster without damaging surrounding building components and walls. Previous standard plunge-cutting saw blades for multi-cutters were, however, not long enough to cleanly cut through the frames or fastenings. With the “C-Tec Speed” plunge-cutting saw blades, Bosch is now offering tradespeople such as window fitters, carpenters and roofers an efficient and time-saving solution.

Advantages of “C-Tec Speed” at a glance
The “C-Tec Speed” plunge-cutting saw blades are available in the Wood and Wood & Metal versions and saw at least 30 percent faster than conventional multi-cutter saw blades. The reason for their speed and high efficiency is the length of 70 millimeters – conventional blades are only 40 millimeters long – and the special blade geometry:
  • The long saw blade oscillates out further to the right and left during sawing than a short saw blade. This results in faster sawing and work progress.
  • The blade body is considerably slimmer than that of previous saw blades in this length. The slim design reduces the mass and therefore the friction between saw blade and material, enabling the multi-cutter to be operated at the highest setting with “C-Tec Speed” without becoming damaged. Moreover, the tapered blade body ensures good chip removal even when making long plunge cuts and minimizes the risk of the saw blade jamming.
  • The cutting edge of the “C-Tec Speed” saw blades is rounded. As a result, the blade can be quickly and effortlessly plunged into the material.
All accessories with universal OIS and color-code system
Bosch is continually expanding the accessory system for professional multi-cutters. Over 20 new accessories are planned for launch in 2014 alone. All Bosch accessories are equipped with universal OIS (Oscillating Interface System). They therefore fit all conventional professional multi-cutters without the need for an adapter. Moreover, a color-code system enables tradespeople to see at a glance which accessories are suitable for which materials.

The “C-Tec Speed” Wood and Wood & Metal plunge-cutting saw blades will be available at specialist retail outlets from September 2014 onwards:
  • the “C-Tec Speed” Wood plunge-cutting saw blade for 13.17 euros (single blade), 52.83 euros (5-piece multipack) and 233.33 euros (25-piece bulk pack),
