press release

The GCD 12 JL Professional cold circular saw from Bosch enables professional tradespeople to saw metal especially precisely and virtually spark-free. This is thanks to the specially developed “Expert for Steel” circular saw blade and the sawing action – as opposed to abrasive cuts with cutting discs. Discoloration and burr formation, which can occur when using cut-off grinders on metal, are minimized when sawing with the GCD 12 JL Professional. This removes the need for the reworking which is common and sometimes time-consuming. The low level of spark formation makes work easier and ensures a clear view of the cutting line. Accurate cut control is ensured by the integrated laser: it shows where the saw will cut, enabling the cut to be made on the marked line. This enables, for example, plumbers and fitters to cut pipes, square profiles or angle profiles to length with exceptionally clean and precise cuts.

Powerful tool for fast, precise cuts
A high-power 2000 watt motor with a no-load speed of 1,500 revolutions per minute makes the GCD 12 JL Professional especially powerful. This ensures a fast work rate on the jobsite or in the workshop. Straight cuts, for example in 100 millimeter wide and 100 millimeter high rectangular steel hollow profiles, are no problem. Chips fall directly into the drawer provided and are therefore easy to dispose of.

Long workpieces can also be cut precisely with the GCD 12 JL Professional. This is thanks to a side extension in the solid supporting table which is made of reinforced die-cast aluminum. It can be pulled out up to 18 centimeters and provides a larger support surface for the workpiece. Miter cuts up to 45 degrees are easy to complete: the exact angle is set on the clearly legible scale without the need for additional tools.

The GCD 12 JL Professional dry cutter will be available at specialist retail outlets from October 2013 onwards at the recommended retail price of 869 euros plus VAT. It comes complete with an “Expert for Steel” saw blade with 305 millimeter diameter. More accessories are available in the Bosch range of accessories.
