press release

Stuttgart/Reutlingen – On 1 July 2013, Shimano Benelux BV will begin acting as the new service partner of Bosch eBike Systems for bicycle retailers in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, as both companies announced on 8 May 2013. With Shimano Benelux as a new partner, Bosch eBike Systems and its network of retailers will benefit from the superb logistics operations, expertise and experience of this major player in the industry.

The partnership will result in shorter delivery times for retailers as well as simplified logistics processes – for example, in the processing of service and warranty complaints. Beginning on 1 July 2013, Shimano Benelux will take over full responsibility for the service hotline in local languages and all logistics operations, including warehousing and delivering goods to retailers in the region. OE sales and service remains the full responsibility of Bosch.

Shimano Benelux will also be responsible for upstream ordering, will evaluate and process warranty complaints and will be the first point of contact for technical inquiries, in addition to delivering replacement parts and service tools directly to retailers. Beginning on 1 July 2013, retailers in the Benelux region will be able to contact the Shimano Benelux service hotline directly for all questions regarding the Bosch eBike System via a special phone number (to be announced before first of july).

“With Shimano Benelux, our retailers in Benelux will now have access to a highly professional and competent partner for after-sales service in line with the high requirements for quality at Bosch eBike Systems,” says Claudia Wasko, Head of Sales and Service at Bosch eBike Systems.

Shimano Benelux is also looking forward to the new partnership: “Bosch is a high quality and professional organization. We are pleased and have high mutual expectations of our cooperation. We will be the first point of contact for bicycle retailers, from phone consultations to warranty evaluations, and we're fully committed to serving them,” says Erik Naberman, Managing Director of Shimano Benelux BV.
