press release

As one of the worldwide leading providers of diesel technology, in addition to developing diesel systems for original equipment, Bosch has also been a continuous driving force behind repair shop technology for testing diesel components efficiently. For vehicle repair shops, particularly diesel specialists, Bosch offers modern test benches with an extensive range of accessories for component testing and repair of all types of diesel systems. The new EPS 625 injection pump test bench is an economical entry-level device for testing conventional in-line and distributor pumps, rounding off the Bosch range of injection pump test benches (EPS).

Robust EPS 625 Injection Pump Test Bench with Measuring Glass Technology
With the EPS 625, repair shops can reliably test injection pumps from Bosch and other manufacturers according to the engine and vehicle manufacturer’s specifications. A low-maintenance 18.5 kW electrical drive powers the robust test bench, which is equipped with a measuring system with measuring glass technology for testing pumps with up to 12 cylinders. The new test bench is compatible with the Bosch EPS 815 universal test bench – adapter kits for different pump types can be used on both test benches.

Bosch EPS 625 features flow rate measurement, an electronically controlled stroke counter, and automatic test oil heating. Target and actual values are shown on a high-resolution 5.7-inch LCD display. Alternatively, the test bench is also available in a PC version with a 19-inch TFT monitor.

Comprehensive Range for Every Use
The EPS 815 universal test bench is the basis of the Bosch repair shop program for testing diesel components. With the corresponding supplementary equipment sets, repair shops are able to test and configure in-line and distributor injection pumps as well as all types of common rail high-pressure pumps and injectors, unit injector components, and unit pump components. All operating statuses can be simulated on the test bench to ensure that testing is comprehensive. Both the “Continuous Flow Analysis KMA 802/822” electronic measuring system and the conventional measuring glass technology can be used to perform testing.

The EPS 708 test bench is the special common rail test bench in the Bosch range. The rail developed for the EPS 708 was designed for injection pressures of up to 2500 bar – so the test bench is already prepared for current developments in diesel technology.

For all Bosch injection pump test benches, there is an extensive range of supplementary equipment sets available for the various diesel components from Bosch and other manufacturers. This range is supplemented with different tool sets for repairing passenger car and commercial vehicle common rail injectors/high-pressure pumps, and unit injector/unit pump systems.

Tool Sets for Diesel Diagnostics on the Vehicle
In addition to its test technology for diesel specialists, Bosch offers all vehicle repair shops the opportunity to access diagnostics for modern diesel systems with its special test appliances. Faulty components can be targeted for replacement once diagnosis has taken place. For example, the repair shop can use the Bosch EPS 200 to test the function of removed common rail injectors quickly and automatically. Diesel sets for diagnostics on the vehicle are also available. In addition, Bosch offers special diagnostics tool sets for Common Rail Systems and also for DeNOx exhaust gas after-treatment systems.

Diesel Workshop Franchises for Professional Service
To support repair shops, but also for vehicle fleets and private customers, Bosch has developed a worldwide network with two workshop franchises for repairing diesel components. In more than 130 countries, around 3 900 Bosch Diesel Centers and Bosch Diesel Services are also authorized to process warranty claims on Bosch diesel components. As competent diesel specialists, Bosch Diesel Centers are equipped for diagnostics, maintenance, component repair and replacement on all systems and vehicles – from passenger cars, through commercial vehicles, to off-highway applications. Bosch Diesel Services repair all components of diesel systems on all passenger cars and commercial vehicles on the market. In addition to specially trained associates, all diesel specialists possess the complete range of Bosch test equipment, including tools and test values, for performing all work required on diesel systems.

The Automotive Aftermarket division (AA) provides the aftermarket and repair shops worldwide with a complete range of diagnostic and repair shop equipment and a wide range of spare parts – from new and exchange parts to repair solutions – for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Its product portfolio includes products made as Bosch original equipment, as well as aftermarket products and services developed and manufactured in-house. More than 18,000 associates in 150 countries, as well as a global logistics network, ensure that some 650,000 different spare parts reach customers quickly and on time. In its “Automotive Service Solutions” operations, AA supplies testing and repair-shop technology, diagnostic software, service training, and information services. In addition, the division is responsible for the “Bosch Service” repair-shop franchise, one of the world’s largest independent chains of repair-shops, with some 17,000 workshops. In addition, AA is responsible for more than 1,000 “AutoCrew” partners.
