press release

The GDX 18 V-LI Professional in the “dynamicseries” from Bosch is the first impact driver with a combined hexagon/square toolholder. Both screwdriver bits and nutsetters can be used with this toolholder. This therefore provides professionals with an universal tool for all the required connections in installation, metal and wood construction. Whereas you previously had to fiddle about with an adapter or switch from one tool to another, now all you have to do is simply change the accessory. This enables electricians, for example, to complete all work, from laying large cable trays through to installing plug sockets, with only one tool. When doing so, nutsetters for large screw connections can be replaced in seconds with torsion bits for smaller screw connections.

Quick, comfortable work without kick-back
The impact driver works without recoil. When the ½" external square is used, the GDX 18 V-LI Professional offers a maximum torque of 180 newton meters. This enables screws up to 16 millimeters in diameter to be quickly and powerfully tightened or loosened. The values are slightly lower for the ¼" internal hexagon. The tool is only 166 millimeters long, weighs 1.6 kilograms with 1.3 Ah battery, 1.8 kilograms with 3.0 Ah battery and is suitable for working overhead and in tight spaces. This impact driver also sits comfortably in your hand during work thanks to its integrated softgrip inserts. If work needs to be interrupted, the professional can simply attach the tool to his belt using the clip.

The GDX 18 V-LI Professional is part of Bosch's “dynamicseries”, which features high performance capability combined with compact design. It is powered by an 18 volt lithium-ion batteries. The “Flexible Power System” offers two battery versions per voltage class: the “Premium” battery with 3.0 ampere hours for exceptionally long battery runtime, for example when driving rows of screws, and the smaller, lighter “Compact” battery with 1.3 ampere hours.

Bosch also offers matching accessories: the “Diamond Impact” range comprises Torx, PH, PZ and Hex screwdriver bits, each with lengths of 25 and 50 millimeters, and an “Anti-shock” bit holder. The “Impact Control” range includes different nutsetters and nutsetter sockets. Both have been specially developed for use with impact drivers.

The GDX 18 V-LI Professional will be available at retail outlets from September 2012 onwards.
