press release

The GDR 14,4-LI Professional and GDR 18-LI Professional cordless impact drivers from Bosch stand for high performance with the shortest design in their class. They are only 138 millimeters long, weigh only 1.3 kilograms with “Compact” battery (1.3 Ah) and therefore make it easy to work overhead or in confined spaces. They are designed for maximum screw diameters of twelve millimeters, and they tighten or loosen these screws quickly and powerfully thanks to their torques of 120 and 130 newton meters respectively. The high speed of 2,600 revolutions per minute ensures fast work progress. These tools therefore help professionals in the installation and fitting trades, such as electricians, joiners, or heating and air conditioning fitters.

Tool and accessories from a single source
The lockable ¼" hex toolholder enables quick and easy clamping of drill bits and screwdriver bits. Bosch offers matching accessories: the “Diamond Impact” range comprises Torx, PH, PZ and Hex screwdriver bits, each with lengths of 25 and 50 millimeters, and an “Anti-shock” bit holder. The “Impact Control” range includes different nutsetters and nutsetter sockets. Both have been specially developed for use with impact drivers.

The GDR 14,4-LI Professional and GDR 18-LI Professional have an integrated luminous ring with three LEDs for good illumination of the work area, a motor brake that ensures quality when driving rows of screws, and an accelerator switch for a soft drilling start. Both impact drivers are part of the “lightseries” from Bosch, which features lightweight and versatile tools. They are powered by 14.4 or 18 volt lithium-ion batteries. The “Flexible Power System” offers two battery versions per voltage class: the “Premium” battery with 3.0 ampere hours for exceptionally long battery runtime and the smaller, lighter “Compact” battery with 1.3 ampere hours. Their long life is thanks to the Electronic Cell Protection (ECP). It reliably protects the battery against overload, overheating and deep discharge.

Available in different sets
The GDR 14,4-LI Professional and GDR 18-LI Professional impact drivers will be available from May 2012 onwards in four different sets ? each including a cordless drill/driver in the “lightseries” or the “dynamicseries” from Bosch. The prices per set are between 299 and 479 euros plus VAT.
